Gain Student Employment

Career-Ready Cougs!

The Academic Success and Career Center helps students find jobs and learn relevant skills at the workplace. Your degree will help you land jobs, but experience can set you apart from other job-seeking individuals.

Check out the resources below, or email studentjobs@wsu.edu for personalized help with your job search.

Set an appointment with a career coach for resume help and review some resume/cover letter guides or resources.

Complete your profile in Handshake:

  • Activate your account with your WSU email
  • Complete profile questions
  • Upload resume and complete work history

Handshake can connect you to on-campus employers but also employers across the country. Filter jobs by location, full-time or part-time jobs, internships, etc.

Jobs on Handshake have been filtered by Handshake and WSU staff, but remember to avoid/report jobs that seem suspicious or require upfront costs.

Wear professional attire, arrive early, and it wouldn’t hurt to bring a printed copy of your resume.

Remember, you have resources to help you!

  • The Cougar Closet (Lighty Student Services Building Rm 160) provides free access to donated business attire for students
  • Interview preparation resources
  • Salary negotiation best practices
  • Workshops
